How To Make Shallot Tarte Tatin

Ingredients
- 6 large shallots, peeled and halved
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the shallots, cut side down, and cook until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.

Flip the shallots and add balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sugar has dissolved and the vinegar has reduced.

Transfer the shallots to a 9-inch (23cm) round baking dish, arranging them cut side down in a single layer.

Roll out the puff pastry and place it over the shallots, tucking in the edges.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.

Let the tart cool for a few minutes, then carefully invert it onto a serving plate.

Garnish with fresh thyme leaves and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Slice and serve warm.
