How To Make Moroccan Kofte with Spicy Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- For the Spicy Tomato Sauce:
- 2 cups canned crushed tomatoes
- 1 red chili pepper, finely chopped
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, coriander, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Shape the meat mixture into small oval-shaped kofte. Place them onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F), then bake the kofte for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and slightly browned.

Meanwhile, prepare the spicy tomato sauce. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped chili pepper and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

Add the crushed tomatoes, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the saucepan. Stir well and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Once the kofte are cooked, carefully transfer them to the spicy tomato sauce and simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend together.

Serve the Moroccan kofte with the spicy tomato sauce over cooked couscous or with warm crusty bread.
