How To Make Italian Toasties
Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 8 slices of Italian bread
- 2 tbsp of butter, softened
- 8 slices of mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of salami
- 1/2 cup of sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup of sliced cherry tomatoes
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat a panini press or a large skillet over medium heat.

Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

Place a slice of mozzarella cheese on the unbuttered side of 4 slices of bread.

Top with a slice of ham, a slice of salami, some black olives, cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil.

Season with salt and pepper.

Place the remaining slices of bread on top, buttered side facing up.

Place the sandwiches in the panini press or skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.

Remove from heat and let cool for a minute before serving.

Cut the toasties diagonally and serve hot.
