How To Make Homemade Cajun Tortillas

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, Cajun seasoning, and salt.

  2. Add the vegetable oil and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Gradually add the warm water, mixing until the dough comes together.

  4. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.

  5. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.

  6. Roll out each ball into a thin circle, about 6 inches in diameter.

  7. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and lightly grease with oil.

  8. Cook each tortilla for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until lightly browned and cooked through.

  9. Remove from the skillet and cover with a clean kitchen towel to keep warm.

  10. Serve the homemade Cajun tortillas warm with your favorite Cajun-inspired dishes.
