How To Make Deep-fried Tofu with Pineapple, Sweet Chilli & Basil

Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, cut into cubes
- 1 cup of pineapple chunks
- 1/2 cup of sweet chilli sauce
- 1/4 cup of fresh basil leaves
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Salt, to taste
- Optional garnish: sliced green onions and sesame seeds
Instructions

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a deep skillet over medium-high heat.

In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with salt to season.

Carefully add the tofu cubes to the hot oil and fry until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the tofu and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

In a separate pan, heat sweet chilli sauce over low heat until warmed through.

Add the pineapple chunks to the pan with the sweet chilli sauce and cook for 2-3 minutes, until heated through.

In a serving dish, arrange the fried tofu cubes and then pour the warm sweet chilli and pineapple mixture over them.

Sprinkle fresh basil leaves on top.

Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
