How To Make Dahi Vada
Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.

Ingredients
- 1 cup urad dal (split black gram)
- 1/4 cup moong dal (split yellow or green gram)
- 2 cups yogurt
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- 1/4 cup tamarind chutney
- 1/4 cup mint-coriander chutney
- Oil for deep frying
- Water for soaking
Instructions

Wash and soak urad dal and moong dal separately for 4-6 hours or overnight.

Drain the water and grind the dals separately to a smooth paste, adding little water if needed. Mix both the batters together.

Add salt to the batter and whisk it well until it becomes light and fluffy.

Heat oil in a deep pan for frying. Take a small portion of the batter and drop it in the oil to make small vadas. Fry them until golden brown.

Remove the vadas from the oil and drain excess oil on a paper towel.

Soak the vadas in water for 10-15 minutes, then gently squeeze out the water from the vadas.

In a separate bowl, whisk yogurt and add salt, cumin powder, and chaat masala to it.

Place the vadas in a serving dish and pour the prepared yogurt mixture all over them.

Drizzle tamarind chutney and mint-coriander chutney on top.

Garnish with cumin powder and chaat masala.

Serve chilled.
