How To Make Cheese, Oat & Spring Onion Soda Bread

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar or any of your choice)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped spring onions
- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt.

Add the grated cheese and chopped spring onions to the bowl and mix well.

Slowly pour in the buttermilk and stir until a dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for a minute or two until smooth.

Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cut a deep cross into the top of the loaf.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
