How To Make Vegan Soda Bread
Turning vegan may look challenging for some, especially for those who can’t turn their eyes away from meat. But they just haven’t found these sumptuous vegan recipes that even non-vegans will surely enjoy!
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup plant-based milk (such as almond or soy milk)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
-
In a separate bowl, combine the plant-based milk and apple cider vinegar. Let it sit for a few minutes to curdle.
-
Gradually add the milk mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
-
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.
-
Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it onto the prepared baking sheet. Score a deep cross on top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
-
Bake for 25 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
-
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
