How To Make Vegan Macadamia Brie Cheese Recipe

A creamy vegan brie cheese made with raw macadamia nuts and cultured with probiotics.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw macadamia nuts, soaked overnight
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Probiotics (1/2 tsp powder or opened capsules)

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse macadamia nuts and add them to a blender or food processor.

  2. Add water, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and black pepper and blend until smooth.

  3. Transfer the mixture to a cheesecloth-lined colander and let it drain for 1-2 hours.

  4. Transfer the drained cheese to a bowl and add the probiotics. Mix well.

  5. Transfer the cheese to a small dish, cover with cheesecloth, and let it ferment for 24-48 hours at room temperature.

  6. Once the cheese has fermented, remove the cheesecloth and transfer the cheese to a serving dish.

  7. Serve with crackers or sliced fruit.
