How To Make Three-Hour Pork Belly

Tender and succulent pork belly with a crispy skin, slow-roasted for 3 hours.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork belly
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp five spice powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).

  2. Score the pork belly skin with a sharp knife.

  3. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, five spice powder, salt, and pepper.

  4. Place the pork belly in a deep roasting pan and pour the sauce mixture over it. Rub the marinade into the skin and meat.

  5. Cover the roasting pan with foil and roast in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours.

  6. Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).

  7. Return the pork belly to the oven and cook for an additional 30 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.

  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

  9. Serve the Three-Hour Pork Belly with steamed rice and your favorite veggies.
