How To Make Strawberry Halva Hamantaschen
A delicious and unique twist on traditional hamantaschen, filled with a sweet strawberry and halva filling.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- 1/4 cup crumbled halva
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and sugar. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
-
Gradually add in the milk, mixing until the dough comes together. If the dough is too dry, add a little more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time.
-
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Using a round cookie cutter or a glass, cut out circles from the dough.
-
Place a teaspoon of strawberry jam and a sprinkle of crumbled halva in the center of each circle.
-
Fold the edges of the circles up and pinch the corners together to create a triangle shape, leaving some of the filling exposed in the center.
-
Place the hamantaschen on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
Allow the hamantaschen to cool completely on a wire rack before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!
