Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Red food coloring
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.

Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

Gradually add the flour and salt to the bowl, mixing until a dough forms.

Divide the dough in half and set one half aside.

Add a few drops of red food coloring to the remaining dough and knead until the color is evenly distributed.

Shape both the plain and colored dough into logs about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.

Wrap each log tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Remove the dough logs from the refrigerator and slice into 1/4 inch thick rounds.

Place the slices onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
