A delicious and comforting dessert made with sweet apples and a crunchy oat topping.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon until well coated.

Transfer the apple mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly.

In another bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt.

Add the cold butter pieces to the flour mixture and crumble them together using your fingers or a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the oat crumble mixture over the apples, covering them completely.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
