How To Make Mincemeat & shortbread squares
A delicious dessert made with a buttery shortbread crust and filled with sweet and tangy mincemeat.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup mincemeat
- 2 tbsp chopped nuts (optional)
- Confectioners’ sugar, for dusting
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking dish.

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and confectioners’ sugar.

Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Press the mixture into the greased baking dish, creating an even layer.

Spread the mincemeat evenly over the shortbread crust.

Sprinkle the chopped nuts (if using) over the mincemeat.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Allow to cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into squares.

Dust with confectioners’ sugar before serving.
