How To Make Lighter Apple & Pear Pie
A lighter version of apple and pear pie with a flaky crust and a delicious fruit filling.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups of peeled, sliced apples
- 2 cups of peeled, sliced pears
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 pre-made pie crust
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sliced pears, granulated sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well.

Roll out the pre-made pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.

Pour the fruit filling into the pie crust, spreading it out evenly.

Roll out the remaining pie crust and cut it into thin strips to create a lattice pattern on top of the pie.

Trim any excess crust and crimp the edges.

Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
