How To Make Jambalaya
A flavorful Creole dish with chicken, sausage, and rice.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 1 lb andouille sausage, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice
Instructions

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the sausage, onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the diced tomatoes, paprika, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Add the chicken broth and rice. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover.

Simmer until the rice is cooked and most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 20-25 minutes.

Remove the skillet from the heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes before serving.
