How To Make Homemade Dumplings
These delicious dumplings are perfect for a cozy night in with friends and family. Filled with a savory mixture of ground pork and vegetables, these dumplings are sure to warm you up on a chilly evening.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup chopped Napa cabbage
- 1 cup chopped scallions
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 36-40 dumpling wrappers
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, Napa cabbage, scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
-
Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Use your fingertips to wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold in half, crimping the edges to seal.
-
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the dumplings in a single layer and cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
-
Add the water to the skillet and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Cook for another 8-10 minutes, or until the dumplings are cooked through and the water has evaporated.
-
Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
