How To Make Dr Pepper Pulled Pork Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup Dr Pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sandwich buns, for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the pork shoulder and chopped onion in a slow cooker.

  2. In a bowl, mix together Dr Pepper, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dry mustard, salt, and pepper.

  3. Pour the mixture over the pork and onion in the slow cooker.

  4. Cook on low for 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and falls apart easily with a fork.

  5. Use two forks to shred the pork and mix with the cooking liquid.

  6. Serve on sandwich buns.
