Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup of canola oil
  • 1/4 cup of almond milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9-inch cake pan with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, unsweetened applesauce, canola oil, almond milk, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly.

  3. Add in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until the batter is well combined.

  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth out the top with a spatula.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of the cake.

  6. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  7. Serve the banana cake as is or sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
