How To Make Chocolate Fudge Cupcakes
Moist and rich chocolate cupcakes topped with a decadent fudge frosting.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- fudge frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with liners.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the cupcakes cool completely.

In a medium bowl, sift the cocoa powder to remove any lumps.

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.

Gradually add in the sifted cocoa powder, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and fluffy.

Once the cupcakes are cooled, pipe or spread the fudge frosting on top of each cupcake.
