How To Make Battered Sweet & Sour Chicken
Crispy and tangy chicken pieces coated in a sweet and sour sauce.

Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 cup cold water
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
Instructions

Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.

In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, coating it evenly. Set aside.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the coated chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

In a separate large skillet, sauté the bell peppers and onion until slightly tender.

In a saucepan, combine the pineapple chunks, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer.

Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and stir until thickened.

Add the fried chicken pieces and sautéed vegetables to the sauce. Stir to coat everything evenly.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serve the battered sweet and sour chicken hot, with steamed rice or noodles.
