How To Make Baked Ziti
Baked Ziti is a classic Italian-American pasta dish that’s perfect for a crowd or a cozy night in.

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ziti pasta
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes
- 2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. black pepper
- 8 oz. ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F and bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cooked ziti, tomato sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.

Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish and sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese on top.

Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.

Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese.
