Cooking fish can be very tricky, especially if some are too delicate to be cooked. Well, with our fish recipes, it’ll be easy as 1-2-3. We’ve got the details on different cooking methods for the perfect fish dish.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup bulgur
- 2 cups water
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
- Salt, to taste
- 4 fillets of your favorite fish (such as cod, tilapia, or salmon)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
-
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add bulgur, cover, and let it simmer for 10 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the bulgur is cooked. Set aside.
-
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
-
Add cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir well to coat the onions and garlic with the spices.
-
Add cooked bulgur to the skillet and mix well with the spiced onions and garlic. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
Season the fish fillets with salt. In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook the fish fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and flaky.
-
Serve the spiced bulgur pilaf with the cooked fish fillets on top. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
