Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp anise seeds
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5 loaf pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract and anise seeds.

Gradually mix in flour mixture alternating with milk until the batter is smooth.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
