- 4 pears, peeled and cut in half
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 star anise pods
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium-sized pot, bring water, sugar, honey, star anise, and cinnamon stick to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and add vanilla extract.
- Add the pears and poach for 10-15 minutes until soft.
- Remove from heat and let the pears cool in the syrup.
- Serve the cooled pears with a spoonful of the poaching syrup.
