- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground anise
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, anise, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add molasses and egg, beating until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, beating until dough forms.
- Form dough into 1-inch balls and place on parchment paper lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned and set.
- Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
