- 4 shots of espresso
- 1 cup of dark rum
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 whole cloves
- 4 cups of hot water
- Whipped cream (optional, for serving)
- Ground nutmeg (optional, for garnish)
Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine the espresso, rum, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, and cloves.

Heat the mixture over medium heat until it comes to a simmer, stirring occasionally.

Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Remove the saucepan from heat and strain out the spices.

Divide the mixture among 4 mugs.
