Ingredients
- 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp lemon zest
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp turbinado sugar (optional, for topping)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, lemon zest, nutmeg, and salt. Toss well to coat the apples.

Roll out the pie crust and transfer it to a greased 9-inch tart pan. Press the crust into the bottom and up the sides of the pan.

Arrange the apple slices in an overlapping pattern on top of the crust.

Brush the melted butter over the apples.

Place the tart pan on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
