Ingredients
- 2 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
- 100g dark chocolate, chopped
- 100g unsalted butter
- 100g caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 75g self-raising flour
- 25g cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.

In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together over a pan of simmering water. Stir until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, whisking continuously.

Sieve in the flour and cocoa powder, and fold gently until well combined.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.

Arrange the sliced pears over the batter, and then pour the remaining batter on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the pudding is cooked through and the top is set.

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
