Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.

In a small bowl, mix together the orange juice and boiling water. Slowly pour this mixture over the batter in the baking dish. Do not stir.

Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted into the pudding comes out mostly clean.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
