Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup white rice
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45-50 minutes, or until rice is tender and mixture has thickened, stirring occasionally.

  3. Stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins, and butter. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or chilled.
