- 1 cup water
- 4 slices of day-old bread
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 ounces white chocolate, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
In a saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens. Set aside to cool.
-
Cut the bread into triangles and arrange them in a baking dish.
-
In a separate saucepan, heat the milk and cream until hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and add the white chocolate. Stir until melted and smooth.
-
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract. Gradually pour in the hot milk mixture, whisking constantly.
-
Pour the custard mixture over the bread in the baking dish. Allow the bread to soak for 10 minutes.
-
Spoon the cranberry mixture over the custard-soaked bread.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until the custard is set and the bread is golden.
-
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
