- 1/2 teaspoon of lemon zest
- 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 package of store-bought pie crusts (2 crusts)
- 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 tablespoon of milk
- 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, lemon zest, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well to coat the blueberries.
-
Place one of the pie crusts into a 9-inch pie dish.
-
Pour the blueberry mixture into the pie crust.
-
Dot the top of the blueberry mixture with pieces of butter.
-
Cover the pie with the second pie crust. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
-
Brush the top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
-
Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
-
Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
