A delightful dessert with creamy banana filling on a graham cracker crust topped with whipped cream.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2 cups of milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until the mixture looks like wet sand.

Press mixture into a 9-inch pie dish and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let it cool.

Arrange sliced bananas on top of the crust.

In a saucepan, whisk sugar, cornstarch, salt, and milk.

Cook over medium heat until mixture thickens.

In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and slowly pour in the hot milk mixture, whisking constantly until combined.

Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over medium heat until it thickens and comes to a boil.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

Pour the mixture into the pie crust and let it cool to room temperature.

Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 4 hours or overnight.

Before serving, whip cream with powdered sugar until the mixture forms stiff peaks.
