How To Make Tangerine Upside-Down Cake
This cake has a citrusy twist with tangerine slices on top instead of the usual pineapple.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 tangerines, peeled and sliced into thin rounds
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp of baking powder
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/4 cup of milk
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a bowl mix melted butter and brown sugar together, then spread mixture evenly on bottom of a 8-inch cake pan.

Arrange tangerine slices in a pattern over the brown sugar mixture.

In a separate bowl, beat egg. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and milk, mixing well.

Pour batter on top of the tangerine slices and smooth evenly.

Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let it cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a plate.

Slice and serve.
