Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/2 cup fresh tangerine juice
- 1 tbsp tangerine zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Using a pastry cutter or your hands, cut in the chilled butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together tangerine juice, zest, vanilla extract, and egg.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently until it comes together, about 5-6 times.

Pat or roll dough into a circle that’s about 1 inch thick and cut into 8 equal wedges.

Transfer scones to prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
