Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.

Use the back of a spoon to flatten each ball of dough slightly.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.

Spread a spoonful of the powdered sugar mixture onto the flat side of one cookie.

Sandwich another cookie on top, pressing gently to secure.

Repeat with the remaining cookies and filling.
