- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg yolk
- Sprinkles or colored sugar (optional)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.

Gradually add the flour and salt to the mixture, mixing until well combined.

Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten each ball with a fork, or you can also press the dough into a cookie press for shaped cookies.

If desired, sprinkle the cookies with colored sugar or sprinkles before baking.

Bake the cookies for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
