- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Additional granulated sugar for rolling
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and roll them in the additional granulated sugar.

Place the cookies on a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
