How To Make Bakery Style Sugar Cookies
These sugar cookies taste sweet and nostalgic. They’re easy to make with just the basic cookie ingredients and doesn’t need chilling or too much waiting!
Serves:
Ingredients
- ½cupbutter,softened
- 1cupgranulated sugar
- 1egg
- 1egg white
- 2tbspsour cream
- 1tspvanilla extract
- 2½cupsall-purpose flour
- ½tspbaking powder
- ¼tspbaking soda
- ½tspsalt
For Vanilla Frosting:
- ¼cupbutter,softened
- 2cupspowdered sugar
- 2tbspcream or half and half
- 1tspvanilla
- several drops food coloring,optional
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In the bowl of an electric mixer, whip together the butter and sugar for about 3 to 4 minutes until pale and fluffy.

Stir in the egg and egg white. Add the sour cream and vanilla, and mix until blended.

Slowly add the dry mixture and stir until well combined. Form the dough into balls, about 1 heaping tablespoon for each.

Place the dough balls on a greased cookie sheet then evenly flatten the dough balls with your hand, to about ¼-inch.

Bake for about 9 to 10 minutes.

Cool completely, then frost.
Vanilla Frosting:

In a mixing bowl, with an electric mixer, whip together the butter and powdered sugar and cream (or half and half) until fluffy.

Stir in the vanilla. Add in food optional food coloring and mix until well blended.
