- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup boiling water
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.

Add in the vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

Gradually pour in the boiling water while stirring the batter. The batter will be thin, but don’t worry, it will bake beautifully.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
