- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, molasses, and hot water. Mix until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
