- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup poppy seeds
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
