- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, beat peanut butter and softened butter until smooth. Add buttermilk and vanilla extract, mix well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the peanut butter mixture, alternating with hot water. Mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
