Ingredients
- 2 oranges
- 200g self-raising flour
- 200g unsalted butter, softened
- 200g caster sugar
- 3 eggs
- 100g icing sugar
- Juice of 1 orange
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake tin.

Grate the zest of 1 orange and set aside.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and caster sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the orange zest.

Sift in the flour and fold until well combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and smooth the surface.

Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

While the cake is baking, make the orange drizzle by mixing the icing sugar and orange juice until smooth.

Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and prick all over with a skewer.

Spoon the orange drizzle over the warm cake, allowing it to soak in.

Leave the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
