Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup mixed dried fruits (e.g., raisins, cherries, apricots)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts, almonds)
- 1/4 cup brandy (optional)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

Fold in the dried fruits and chopped nuts. If desired, stir in the brandy.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
