- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp white vinegar
- Almonds, for garnish
- Red gel food coloring
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a finger-shaped cake mold.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in red food coloring and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Mix until just combined.

In a small bowl, stir together vinegar and a few drops of red gel food coloring. Add this mixture to the batter and stir until well combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake mold and smooth the top. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
