Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and set aside.
-
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
-
In a separate bowl, combine the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk.
-
Gradually add the milk mixture to the egg mixture, whisking continuously until fully incorporated.
-
In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Add this mixture to the milk and egg mixture, whisking until smooth.
-
Slowly pour the melted butter into the batter, whisking until well combined.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Place the cake pan inside a larger baking dish filled with hot water, creating a water bath.
-
Carefully transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour 30 minutes, or until the cake is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-
Remove the cake pan from the water bath and allow it to cool completely before refrigerating for at least 2 hours or overnight.
-
To serve, run a sharp knife around the edges of the pan and invert the cake onto a serving plate. Cut into slices and enjoy!
