- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup milk
- Variations: sprinkles, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, dried fruits (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined and smooth.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
