- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- For the cream cheese frosting:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking tray.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until well combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking tray and spread it evenly.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the cake cool completely.

Meanwhile, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
